On-line – Becoming a Self Employed Gardener

This information-packed workshop is aimed at gardeners who are thinking about working for themselves and will give you practical advice on how to set yourself up as self-employed. Topics include: deciding whether it’s the right thing for you, how to get started, what to consider, business planning, finances, your business identity, legal status and the services you choose to offer, how to register with HMRC, insurance, important paperwork and useful resources.

Jo ‘escaped’ the desk job almost 10 years ago and re-trained in floristry, garden design and RHS Level 2, then after her WRAGS placement at Kelmarsh Hall, she took the plunge to start her own gardening business in 2016. She will guide you through the stages that need to be considered before you start out as a self-employed gardener.

The talk will start at 9:30 via Zoom and with breaks will last approximately 3 hours.

The cost for this on-line event, is £35 per WFGA member, £45 non WFGA member.
