On-Line – 21st Century Gardener

£15.00£20.00

Description

Your tutor for the talk is Timothy Walker – lecturer in Plant Sciences at Somerville College Oxford, botanist, gardener, author and was Horti Praefectus and Director of the Oxford Botanic Garden.

The gardens we create and the ways in which we garden have changed constantly over the past few centuries, so it is reasonable to ask how gardening could change in the 21st century.  This question has been stimulated in part by the changes that we are seeing in our weather and climate.  Gardeners are perhaps more aware of these changes than other groups in Society.  This talk looks at the many ways that gardeners can reduce their impact on the World’s natural resources and at the same time help those plants and animals whose habitat is evolving faster than they can.  It is about much more than global warming and using peat.”

You will need a suitable PC/Laptop/MAC with camera and will need to download the free Zoom App from their website.

The cost for this specialist workshop is £15 per WFGA member, £20 non WFGA member.

Note:  We do not currently record any of our online workshops or talks.
