North Yorkshire – Littlethorpe Manor Guided Walk with Head Gardener

Description

A large, mixed garden of 11 acres surrounding a Georgian Manor House.  Features include a 16th century walled garden, designed to reflect the cycle of the seasons, a sunken garden with herbs and old roses, a winter arboretum, hedges that provide year-round structure and a cascade in the recently developed new lake.  Of particular interest is the newly-developed Physic Garden.

Arrive between 10:15 and 10:30. There will be a welcome coffee and tea, followed by the tour – 10:30 – 12 noon.

Between 12 and 1PM, feel free to enjoy your packed lunch in the garden.

If you fancy having a full day in the area, or even a weekend, nearby gardens at Newby Hall and RHS Harlow Carr will be open for visits, as will NT Fountains Abbey (subject to any restrictions at the time). The historic small city of Ripon is also close by.

The cost is £10 per member and £15 for non members which includes tea/coffee on arrival.  Please wear weather appropriate clothing and bring your own picnic lunch.
