Description
Netherfields is a beautiful garden, in North Nibley, situated just to the north of Wotton-under-Edge, with beautiful views over the Severn Valley. The garden includes an orchard as well as a range of other fruit trees. It is easily accessible from Bristol and and the M5 motorway. Martin Hayes will start with an introduction and talk about fruit tree pruning, describing methods of pruning with clear explanations of how and why. The group will move into the orchard and Martin will carry out a demonstration, before splitting into groups and starting to practise pruning, supported by Martin and the gardeners at Netherfield. Lunch will be at about 12.30pm and we will continue to work in the afternoon. By the end of the day you will have learnt some key principles, practiced these under expert tuition and pruned an orchard. Please note the start time of 9.30am, is to make the most of daylight hours.
All refreshments and lunch will be provided by our host Margie Hoffnung.
