Description

Barnards Farm is owned and managed by the Christabella Charitable Trust. The 22 hectares of garden contain over 80 pieces of sculpture, woodland, ponds, a miniature railway, a dry garden, Japanese garden, herbaceous beds, a formal parterre and a fruit and vegetable garden.

It is home to the National Malus Collection designated by the Plant Heritage National Council for the Conservation of Plants & Gardens.

Arrive from 09:00 for a 09:30 start with tea/coffee and a briefing on pruning wisteria by Alex, the Head Gardener. Then it’s time to climb ladders and start pruning!

The aim of the session is to show attendees why and how to prune wisteria to achieve maximum flowering the following year.

You’ll finish around 12.30

Essential: Secateurs, gloves, suitable clothing. If possible: loppers, small pruning saws. Please note that ladders will be used on this skills day

The cost of this Practical Skills morning is £30 .00 and it open to members only.
