Devon – Tour of Stonelands Gardens

Description

Stonelands is a beautiful 12 acre pleasure garden surrounding an early nineteenth century property designed by John Nash, with many mature specimen trees and shrubs, a large formal lawn, recently landscaped herbaceous beds, vegetable garden, woodland garden, orchard and wildflower meadow, and riverside walk.

Saul Walker, who trained at the National Trust and Kew Gardens, is the Head Gardener at Stonelands, and your guide for this tour. Saul is a member of the RHS Tender Plant Committee, and a Trustee of The Hardy Plant Society. He also co-hosts the brilliant gardening podcast ‘Talking Heads’ with Lucy Chamberlain.

The tour will last approximately 1.5-2 hours, followed by time for you to enjoy refreshments in the garden and chat with your tour companions: other passionate gardners, WFGA members, and our Regional Manager for Devon, Caroline Havard.

Timings:
Start: 10.30am
Ends: 1pm

Refreshments:
Tea, coffee and cake are available for small charge on the day.

Important Points:
Please note that the paths through the woodland, meadow and the riverside walk may be unsuitable for wheelchairs.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing.

Costs:
The cost per person below includes the £7 NGS entrance fee plus a small donation to WFGA.
