Cambridgeshire – Tour of Girton College Gardens

£10.00£15.00

Description

Girton occupies one of the largest sites (55 acres) of any University of Cambridge College and its pastoral setting is a unique, green and spacious gateway into the city. The gardens, established early in the College’s history, still retain much of their original structure and design, with a delightful combination of wild woodland, formal spaces, meadows, sports fields and an orchard, all enclosed in a fine shelter belt of mature trees filtering views of in and out.

The spirit of Girton, thriving and flourishing, is embodied in its inspiring gardens and the ambitious architecture of the buildings they surround.

This tour will include all areas of the gardens, including the propagation facilities.

Julia Andersson, the Head Gardener at Girton College will lead the tour, with a focus on their propagation faculties.
