Description
Ashley Manor is set is 5 acres of beautiful Tetbury countryside. The gardens include an abundant orchard, herbaceous borders, vegetable garden and ponds. The day will begin with a session on how to properly sharpen and sterilize tools ready for pruning. Anne/Darren will start with an introduction and talk about fruit tree pruning, describing methods of pruning with clear expectations of how and why. The group will move to the orchard where a demonstration will be given, before splitting into pairs and beginning to practice pruning while supervised by an experienced gardener. Tools used will be secateurs and loppers (please bring your own but spares available if necessary). Lunch will be at about 12.30 (vegetarian soup provided but please bring your own sandwich if needed) and work will continue afterwards.
Please bring sharp, clean secateurs, gardening gloves and weather appropriate clothing
The cost of the day is £35.00 for members. Tea and coffee & biscuits will be provided
